Digitising Food Ordering with Purple Crayola’s Bespoke Web Application
Custom Website Development / Web & Mobile (Application) Development
Client Overview
Duchess Hospital, a premier 100-bed facility in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, combines exceptional healthcare with unparalleled hospitality. Specializing in primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare services, Duchess Hospital provides highly personalized care, ensuring a world-class experience for every patient.
Challenge
Duchess Hospital needed to modernise its paper-based food ordering system to maintain its world-class service standards. The extant system, involving Dietitians, porters, and a world-class Chef and kitchen, required digitisation to simplify patient ordering and enhance order tracking for internal stakeholders.
Solution
Purple Crayola designed a custom, web-based, responsive application, a variant of its ‘MenuMagic’ system for Duchess Hospital. This system enabled users to create accounts and place meal orders for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Administrators could manage menus, update stock status, and track order progress (placed, processing, ready). The application included barcode access for easy usage. Purple Crayola worked closely with the IT and dietitian teams for alpha testing, followed by iterative improvements before the full launch.
Results
This digital transformation not only simplified the food ordering process but also boosted patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. By integrating a responsive web application with real-time order tracking, Duchess Hospital enhanced its service delivery, reflecting its commitment to providing world-class healthcare and hospitality. The successful implementation demonstrates the power of strategic digital solutions in improving healthcare operations and patient experiences.
In the first 90 days post-implementation, the new digital food ordering system at Duchess Hospital achieved remarkable success:
